Shibchar Upazila of Madaripur has declared a lockdown to prevent coronavirus (Covid-19) infection. 212 people have been directed to stay in home quarantine and 2 people have been kept in isolation in Dhaka.

Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) at a press conference this afternoon. Asaduzzaman said all shops and public transport except medicines, raw materials, grocery stores and emergency services would remain closed. The decision was made in the wake of the coronavirus infection. The lockdown will begin on the evening of March 19. If necessary, the government is thinking of lockdown in several areas including Madaripur, Shariatpur and Faridpur.


And in Bangladesh now a total of 16 people are infected and 3 are healthy and 1 is dead.

The Covid-19 virus, which spread from Wuhan in China's Hubei province in late December 2019, is now a major cause of panic around the world, prompting a nationwide lockdown. So the lockdown was announced for the first time in the country to deal with the virus.
